The Metchie J. E. Budka Award of The Kosciuszko
Foundation
For outstanding scholarly work in Polish Literature,
Polish History and Polish-American (United States) Relations.
1. The Competition for the Award
is open both to:
a. Graduate students for work in United States colleges and universities,
and
b. Doctoral degree recipients from these Institutions who apply
during, or at the close of, the first three years of their postdoctoral
scholarly careers.
2. Fields of Study
a. Polish Literature from the fourteenth century to the year 1956,
and
b. Polish History. The State, The Nation and The People from 962
to 1956.
3. Material to be Submitted
a. Two original articles, or comparable material, (see Award Statement)
written in English in a form appropriate for publication or published
in a refereed scholarly journal or
b. Annotated translations into English from the original Polish
of one or more significant works which fall within the designated
guidelines.
4. The Award Statement

5. Submissions
Four copies of each complete submission for the year 2008 Award
